Top 13 NES Games
Brian over at TheTop13.com let me know about an article that recently ranked the top 13 games for the classic Nintendo Entertainment System(NES). Super Mario Bros. 3 tops their list, which also includes popular titles such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Tecmo Bowl. I myself would have liked to see BattleToads, Castlevania, and the original Super Mario Bros make the list. With all the NES games out there, I’m sure there are lots of games that are missing. The biggest issue here is whether the original Super Mario Bros. needs to be included; it’s the game that started it all, but it was certainly eclipsed by other Mario games, particularly Super Mario Bros. 3. The problem, of course, is that 3 wouldn’t have existed without the original. So what do you guys think? Should it have been included?
What I don’t understand is how you can defend yourself and say that Super Mario Bros shouldn’t gave been included. Video game ratings are based on sales just like how television ratings are based on viewers. Super Mario Bros was one of the top 10 selling NES games of all-time and should have been included in your list.
Super Mario Bros. should definitely be included. An amazing game and it did pretty much start it all. I wonder what the list was based on? Was it on sales, or just opinion, because i’m pretty sure Super Mario Bros. outsold some of the games that did make it.
